Katrana Garners Award After Eight-Point Performance

Oskaloosa--Garrett Katrana (Fr., Parker, Colo., Industrial Technology) was a healthy part of William Penn's offense as it clinched the regular season crown, and for his efforts he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week Monday, presented by BoxOut.

Katrana received his first weekly accolade after leading the Statesmen to a 15-10 win over St. Ambrose last Wednesday.  The victory helped the navy and gold secure the league regular season crown and the top seed for the Heart Championship.

The freshman had a part in eight of his squad's 15 points, tallying four goals with four assists.  He added one ground ball and three caused turnovers as well.

For the year, Katrana has tallied 43 goals and 37 assists for 80 points; he ranks second on the team in all three categories.  The freshman has also managed 27 ground balls and five caused turnovers.  He has scored at least one goal and one assist in every game this spring (high of 10 points).

WPU has won six weekly league honors this season.
