Stewart, Terry Named Honorable-Mention All-Heart

Oskaloosa--The Statesmen women's basketball duo of Ally Stewart (Sr., Victoria, Australia, Physical Education) and Morgan Terry (Sr., Cornersville, Tenn., Biology) were recognized for their contributions this season as the all-Heart of America Athletic Conference teams were announced Wednesday.

For the second year in a row (and the second time in their careers), Stewart and Terry were both selected to the honorable-mention team.  A total of 24 individuals were named to that squad, while 10 players were chosen for both the first team and second team.

The pair helped William Penn to a 9-19 record (6-16 Heart) this winter.

Stewart averaged 10.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in addition to 46 assists, a team-high 36 steals, and two blocks.  She shot 34.5% from the floor (28.6% 3-PT) and a team-high 87.1% at the free-throw line.

The senior was in double figures on 15 occasions with a high of 24 points against Graceland on January 21.  In that game, she knocked down a season-best six three-pointers.  Stewart also tallied a campaign-high four steals twice.

Terry led WPU in both scoring (11.5 per game) and assists (3.0 per game) in addition to 3.4 rebounds per outing; she also had six steals and four blocks to her credit.

The senior, who hit 53.5% of her shots and 71.6% of her free throws, posted 21 double-digit performances.  Terry scored a season-high 19 points versus Park on January 7, had one double-double against Graceland on January 21, and dished out a season-best eight assists in a matchup with Benedictine on December 3.

Leianya Massenat of Central Methodist was named Heart Player of the Year, while teammate Zutorya Cook collected Defensive Player of the Year honors.  Culver-Stockton claimed the laurels for Newcomer of the Year (McKenzie Lathrom) and Freshman of the Year (Avery Oetting).

Central Methodist swept the coaching awards with Mike Davis being named Coach of the Year and Camden Levett collecting the Assistant Coach of the Year accolade.
