Statesmen of the Week: Aidan Piet and Sammantha Meyers

Oskaloosa--Men's bowler Aidan Piet (So., Meridian, Idaho, Business Management) and women's bowler Sammantha Meyers (Sr., Rockford, Ill., Elementary Education) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for October 14-20, presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

Piet placed 22nd in the individual standings at the Mid States Championship last Saturday.  He knocked down 1,237 pins over the span of six games for an average of 206.2.  The sophomore, who helped William Penn to a 13th-place finish, recorded four games in the 200s (high of 254).

Meyers helped the Statesmen place third out of 26 teams at the Mid States event, including reaching the semifinals of the bracket competition.  In six games, she knocked down 1,131 pins for a 188.5 average.  The senior, who placed 18th in total pinfall, had two games in the 200s, headlined by a 256.
