Statesmen of the Week: Hugo Cornish and Carley West

Oskaloosa--Men's soccer player Hugo Cornish (So., Sydney, Australia, Business Management) and women's basketball player Carley West (Jr., Saint Paul, Minn., Human Services) have been recognized as the Statesmen of the Week for October 21-27, presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

Cornish kicked off his week with a hat trick of three goals, leading the Statesmen to a 5-2 victory over Culver-Stockton last Tuesday. It is his first career hat trick and the program's first since 2021.

West led the scoring in William Penn's 94-73 triumph over the College of Saint Mary on Saturday, finishing with 27 points. She shot 11-for-15 from the field and 2-for-4 from beyond the arc, while also adding three assists, six rebounds, and three steals.
