Sears, Bostelman Earn Player of the Month Honors

Oskaloosa--The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced its December Players of the Month.

Men's soccer player Edan Sears (Sr., Telford, England, Sports Management) was named the male recipient, while women's wrestler Kendall Bostelman (Jr., Napoleon, Ohio, Exercise Science) earned the female honor. Both athletes received this recognition for the first time in their careers.

Sears anchored the Statesmen defense during the NAIA National Championship journey, allowing just four goals over four tournament matches. Playing 382 minutes, his defensive effort secured two shutouts and earned him the NAIA National Championship Outstanding Defensive Player award.

Bostelman showcased her dominance in three events, compiling an impressive 8-2 record in December. At the Doane Open, she finished second with a 4-1 record, including one technical fall and two pins. Her only loss came against the nation's No. 2-ranked wrestler. Later, at the Soldier Salute, she posted a 3-1 record, defeating a top-10-ranked teammate with one fall and two technical falls.
