Statesmen of the Week: Francois Assaud and Marin Frazee

Oskaloosa--Men's golfer Francois Assaud (Sr., Montelimar, France, Sports Management) and softball player Marin Frazee (So., Sioux City, Iowa, Exercise Science) have been named Statesmen of the Week for March 10-16, an honor presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

Assaud led the Statesmen at the Defiance Island Pointe Intercollegiate last Thursday and Friday, helping the team secure a fourth-place finish with a two-round total of 636. The senior finished an impressive fourth out of 64 golfers, carding a score of 152 (75-77).

In the Tucson Invitational Games, Frazee showcased her skills across eight contests, posting a stellar .429 batting average to help her team achieve six victories. She went 6-for-14 at the plate, driving in one RBI and crossing the plate 10 times. In addition to drawing two walks, Frazee was also a magnet for the ball as she was hit by pitch nine times en route to an exceptional .680 on-base percentage. Her base-running was flawless, as she successfully stole all eight bases attempted.
