WPU Puts Up Record Scholastic Numbers

WPU Puts Up Record Scholastic Numbers

Oskaloosa--The Statesmen athletics department raised the bar academically during the 2024-2025 school year as it set new records.

With 20 teams posting grade point averages of 3.0 or above, the overall department GPA for school year stood at 3.15.

A total of 448 Statesmen student-athletes managed to eclipse the 3.0 mark for the academic year, nearly double that of the year prior.  WPU amassed 199 Dean's List members (3.5+ GPA), while 165 reached the President's List (3.9+ GPA), both of which were substantially higher than 2023-2024.

Additionally, 86 WPU student-athletes were named Heart of America Athletic Conference Scholar-Athletes and 84 were tabbed for NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition.

"This year's academic success is a direct reflection of the relentless commitment our student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and support staff have made to excellence in the classroom," William Penn Athletics Director Aleesha Rabedeaux said.  "As a department and university, this is the ultimate success we want for our student-athletes.  This kind of momentum brings great energy to our department, and we are excited to keep raising the standard in the years ahead."

"Our faculty, staff, and coaches work together to support the academic success of our student-athletes," William Penn Faculty Athletics Representative Jennifer Peterson said.  "Despite the demands of athletic seasons, our students showed strong commitment to their coursework and put in the effort to stay on track."
