Rettig Promoted to Assistant AD for Internal Operations
Oskaloosa--William Penn Director of Athletics Grant Farris is proud to announce that CJ Rettig has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations.
Rettig had been serving as the department's Director of Compliance, and will continue in that role. He has also been, and will continue to serve as, a member of the department's senior leadership team, while also providing oversight for the Association of Students-Athletes.
Rettig will maintain responsibility for facilities scheduling as well, while leading the department's community service initiatives, and overseeing all aspects of student-athlete development.
"CJ is an integral member of our leadership team," Farris said. "His work with the Association of Student-Athletes has played a key role in enhancing the student experience and elevating campus events. In addition, he has taken the lead on our compliance efforts, serving as a vital resource for our student-athletes. CJ's versatility, reliability, and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable asset to the department. Over the past year, he has shown remarkable professional growth, positioning himself to take on increased responsibilities and further drive the success of William Penn Athletics."
A 2023 graduate of William Penn with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Kinesiology, Rettig was a four-year starter on the men's volleyball team and was a member of an NAIA National Championship-qualifying squad.
He earned three NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards and was the university's nominee for the NAIA Dr. LeRoy Walker award.
Rettig also served on WPU's Association of Student-Athletes, while representing the Heart of America Athletic Conference at the NAIA level by holding a position on the Council of Student-Athletes. He earned his Master's of Sports Management degree from WPU in 2025 as well.
