Bio

Brandon Lenhart returns as an assistant men’s basketball coach.  With over two decades as a coach, Lenhart in his seventh year overall at William Penn, having previously spent six years on the Statesmen bench from 2002-2007.

Lenhart most recently spent one collegiate season as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Minot State University in North Dakota.  While there, he served as the coordinator for recruiting and academics.  He also helped run numerous youth camps and community service projects.

Prior to his time at Minot State, Lenhart spent 12 seasons as the head coach at McCook Community College in Nebraska.  As the leader of the program, he led the team to a conference title in 2016, its first since 2005.  That season, Lenhart was named the conference’s Co-Coach of the Year.

At MCC, he coached nine all-Region IX honorees and 36 all-conference performers, while 11 individuals garnered Academic All-America laurels.  A total of 22 players were named academic all-region and 28 earned academic all-conference recognition as well.

McCook CC earned the NABC’s Academic Excellence Award for owning a 3.0 Team GPA in 2016-2017 and 2017-2018.

In his first stint at WPU, Lenhart helped lead the team to back-to-back conference titles for the first time in program history.  He guided William Penn to four conference tournament finals appearances, leading the Statesmen to a tournament crown in 2007.  The team advanced to the NAIA Division II National Championship in 2007, its first postseason appearance since 1983.

At William Penn, Lenhart helped produce 13 all-conference players and five All-Americans, along with 30 academic all-conference award recipients and 10 NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Lenhart is a 2001 graduate of William Penn with a degree in Physical Education (K-12).  He also earned a Master’s in Physical Education, Recreation, and Health from Emporia State University (Kan.) in 2003.

A native of Tama, Iowa, Lenhart now resides in Oskaloosa with his Wife, Gail, and two sons, Brandt (8) and Braxton (6).
