Bio

Colten Uitermarkt is in his first season as Head Shotgun Sports Coach.

A native of Otley, Iowa, Uitermarkt recently concluded a two-year appointment as a graduate assistant coach for William Penn.  During his tenure as both a coach and athlete, he helped the Statesmen win the NCSSAA Division IV national title in 2023 and also place third in the ACUI Division I standings in 2024.

The Statesmen, who also secured numerous tournament crowns, were exceptional in the classroom, headlined by leading the entire nation with 17 academic honorees in 2024.

Uitermarkt earned his Master’s of Organizational Leadership degree from WPU in 2024.  He is also a 2022 graduate of Concordia University in Seward, Neb. with a degree in Biology and Environmental Science.

Holding a Level 1 shotgun certification from the National Rifle Association and a coaching certification from the Scholastic Clay Target Program, Uitermarkt has been a traveling private instructor since 2022.

Uitermarkt, who is a 2018 graduate of Pella Christian High School, is a member of the Marion County Sportsman Club Board and is on the Pella Christian Clay Target Team Leadership Committee.  An avid hunter, he continues to compete in NSCA and NSSA events.

Uitermarkt lives near Tracy with his wife Jessie.
