Abu Ibrahim, MBL, LAT, ATC, CSCS, is in his seventh year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.  He also serves as Associate Athletic Director.

Ibrahim came to WPU from Wayne State College in Nebraska where he served more than two years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer.  He was the trainer for the WSC football and women’s basketball teams his first two seasons.

No stranger to Oskaloosa, Ibrahim was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at William Penn from 2013-2015 while earning his Master’s of Business Leadership degree.  While at WPU, he worked directly with six sports and also offered his services for the North Mahaska High School football team.

A 2013 graduate of Northeastern University in Massachusetts with a degree in Athletic Training, Ibrahim completed clinical rotations at Northeastern, Harvard University, Eastern Nazarene College, and at the high school and junior college levels while at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Complex.  He also has three years of experience in outpatient physical therapy with Sports and Physical Therapy Associates in Massachusetts.

Ibrahim has been Athletic Training Board Certified since 2013 and is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association.  He is currently a Licensed Athletic Trainer, and maintains a certification as a Red Cross/CPR AED instructor.  He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Ibrahim, who was named the 2024-2025 Heart of America Athletic Conference Athletic Trainer of the Year, resides in Oskaloosa with his wife Elise, a WPU alum, their son Zayn, and their daughter Sierra.
