
Cheer Secures Two Wins at Concordia Duals
Seward, Neb. – The William Penn competitive cheer squad put together a strong showing at the Concordia Day of Duals on Saturday, securing a pair of victories.
WPU opened the competition with a 75.9-point performance to defeat Dordt, which posted 66.1 points. The Statesmen carried that momentum into their second battle, topping York (Neb.) with a dominant 79.5-57.15 win.
William Penn finished with an overall score of 155.4 but did not crack the top three. Northwestern took first place with a score of 183.95.
"I am really proud of these teams! They keep working hard and improving our routine week to week! Two wins this weekend was awesome," said Head Coach Abby Reynolds. "As I have told them repeatedly, they are setting the pathway for what is to come for WPU Cheer, and I'm honestly so thankful for this team! We have a lot more work to do, so stay tuned!"
Next Up: The Statesmen head to Orange City, Iowa, on February 14-15 for the Northwestern Invitational.
