Six Named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

Oskaloosa--Six members of the William Penn competitive cheer team were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements, earning the title of 2025 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes recently.

Leading the group was Jaden Creech (So., Bloomfield, Iowa, Exercise Science), who achieved a flawless 4.00 GPA as the team entered the spring semester.

Following closely were Grace McCumber (So., Manitou Springs, Colo., Nursing) (3.95), Olivia Muir (So., Oskaloosa, Iowa, Psychology) (3.95), and Jadin Bennett (So., Bloomfield, Iowa, Elementary Education) (3.93), all of whom exceeded the 3.9 threshold.

Annalise Smith (Jr., Kahoka, Mo., Elementary Education) (3.87) and Lexie Current (Jr., Gilman, Iowa, Nursing) (3.79) also earned recognition for their academic excellence.

This marks the second time Smith and Current have received the honor, while Creech, McCumber, Muir, and Bennett are all being recognized for the first time.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport's eligibility paperwork.
