
Three Collect NAIA Scholar-Athlete Accolades
Oskaloosa--Three members of the William Penn men's basketball team were recognized for their academic achievements by being named 2024-2025 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes recently.
Leading the team was Marcelino Edwards (Jr., Nassau, Bahamas, Computer Science), who posted an impressive 3.67 GPA as the spring semester began.
Just behind him were Spencer Grant (Jr., Nevada, Iowa, Sports Management), with a 3.66 GPA, and Easton Nash (Jr., Shreveport, La., New Media), with a 3.55 GPA, both demonstrating strong academic consistency.
For Edwards and Grant, this marks their second time receiving the award, while Nash is being honored for the first time.
To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport's eligibility paperwork.
