
Putzier Locks Down First Weekly Award of Senior Campaign
Oskaloosa--Breck Putzier (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn., Exercise Science) guided the Statesmen to a pair of high-scoring outings, and for his efforts he was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week Monday, presented by BoxOut.
Putzier earned his seventh career weekly laurel (first of 2025) after helping No. 5 William Penn to a 1-1 record last week to start the season.
The senior began his final collegiate year with eight goals and two assists last Monday against Michigan-Dearborn. Additionally, he had five caused turnovers and four groundballs.
One day later, Putzier managed one goal and five assists versus No. 10 Madonna, while also recording four groundballs and two caused turnovers.
Overall, the navy and gold scored 41 goals in its two contests.
For the year, he has nine goals with seven assists for 16 total points. Putzier has tallied eight groundballs and a team-best seven caused turnovers as well.
WPU has one weekly award this year.
