Statesmen Now 10th in NAIA

Oskaloosa--The William Penn men's lacrosse team's recent struggles unfortunately affected its national standing as the NAIA released its third top-10 poll Wednesday.

WPU (3-3, 2-0 Heart) dropped three runs from the last rating to No. 10 with 24 points.  It marks the 10th-straight poll in which the navy and gold are ranked.

Despite the demotion, William Penn continues to lead the two Heart of America Athletic Conference programs in the ranking.  Fellow Heart school Benedictine is unofficially 15th in the country.

Keiser (Fla.) remains No. 1 with 60 points and all six first-place votes.  The rest of the top five is also unchanged with Webber International (Fla.), Cumberlands (Ky.), Indiana Tech, and Reinhardt (Ga.) rounding out the top five.

William Penn travels to Fremont, Neb. Wednesday to face Midland in Heart play at 4 p.m.
