Putzier’s School Record Leads to Heart Award
Oskaloosa--Breck Putzier (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn., Exercise Science) broke yet another school record last week while also garnering Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honors Monday, presented by BoxOut.
Putzier, who is now an eight-time career recipient (second this year), led William Penn (5-3, 2-0 Heart) to a pair of league wins.
In last Tuesday's 26-0 win over Midland, the senior tallied 15 total points, including dishing out 11 assists along with four goals. His 11 assists are a new program record, breaking his own mark of nine against Benedictine from 2023.
Putzier also grabbed three ground balls and went 2-for-3 in faceoffs in the victory.
Last Saturday against William Woods, Putzier managed four more goals with one assist in an 18-7 win. He produced seven ground balls as well.
For the year, Putzier leads WPU in goals (32), assists (38), and points (70). He also has notched 27 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. The senior has managed to post at least one goal and one assist in all eight games this season.
The weekly accolade is the fourth for the Statesmen this year.
