Scholar-Athlete Laurels to Seven WPU Players

Oskaloosa--Seven members of the William Penn men's soccer team were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2024 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Nils Monchesang (So., Erfurt, Germany, Sports Management) paced the crew with a 3.84 Grade Point Average entering the fall semester.

Hugo Cornish (So., Sydney, Australia, Business Management) was next at 3.72, while Conor Keylock (Jr., Johannesburg, South Africa, Sports Management), at 3.64, and Darragh Curtin (Sr., Dublin, Ireland, Exercise Science), at 3.63, were also over the 3.6 mark.

Edan Sears (Sr., Telford, England, Sports Management) (3.59), Daniel Wilson (Sr., Dublin, Ireland, Wellness and Recreation) (3.52), and Alessandro Bedei (Sr., Cesena, Italy, Business Management) (3.50) met the criteria as well.

The award is the second for Bedei and Keylock, while Cornish, Curtin, Monchesang, Sears, and Wilson are all first-time awardees.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport's eligibility paperwork.
