WPU Opens Post-Holiday Schedule at Central Invite

Pella--The William Penn men's wrestling team started its post-break slate Saturday with a small contingency at the Central Invitational.

Only a handful of grapplers hit the mats for WPU with 157-pounder Kael Bunce (Jr., Stockbridge, Mich., Mechanical Engineering) guiding the way with a 3-1 mark, including two falls.

285-pounder Maxwell Diaz (Jr., Miami, Fla., Sports Management) pinned two foes as well.

The tournament also had a Silver division and 125-pounder Corbin Grace (Fr., Ottumwa, Iowa, Sports Management) and 141-pounder Brise Bennett (Jr., Morgantown, W.Va., Business Management) won twice in that classification.  Grace had a technical fall victory, while Bennett earned wins via technical fall and fall.

Next Up: William Penn travels to Lamoni next Tuesday to face Graceland in a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual at 7 p.m.
