Three to Compete at Nationals

Oskaloosa--A trio of William Penn men's wrestlers will vie for glory as they compete at the 68th Annual NAIA Men's Wrestling National Championship Thursday through Saturday.

The Championship, which will be in Park City Arena in Park City, Kan., will include six sessions.  Thursday's first session of the double-elimination Championship will start at 11 a.m., including one round of both championship and consolation bracket action.

133-pounder Lane Scorpil (Jr., Columbus Junction, Iowa, Business Management) will open up against No. 1 seed Dominic Chavez of Texas Wesleyan.  He enters nationals with a 14-8 record.  It will be his second trip to the final site (also qualified in 2023 while at Iowa Wesleyan).

Cameron Hargrove (Sr., Bolingbrook, Ill., Sports Management), who is making his fourth nationals trip, heads to Kansas as the No. 8 seed in the 165-pound weight class.  Entering with a 19-5 mark this year, the senior's first match will be against Ethan Gomez of Cumberland (Tenn.).

184-pounder Branson Bottorff (Sr., Mackinaw, Ill., Industrial Technology) brings a 13-9 record into his second nationals appearance (also qualified in 2023).  He will take on Temuujijn Mendbileg of Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) in his opening match.
