
Whitcomb Garners CSC Academic All-District Award
Oskaloosa--Lacy Whitcomb (Sr., Overland Park, Kan., Psychology) was honored for a strong 2024-2025 season in and out of the classroom as she earned women's basketball academic all-district honors from College Sports Communicators Tuesday.
Whitcomb, who entered the spring semester with a 3.57 Grade Point Average, ended her year by averaging 4.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per contest. She also recorded 21 steals and 14 blocks, while shooting 34.2% from the floor (30.9% 3-PT) and 72.7% from the line.
The senior hit double figures on four occasions with a high of 13 points against MidAmerica Nazarene on February 22.
The award combines both athletic and academic achievements. To be eligible for the award, individuals must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been enrolled at the nominating institution for one year (transfers use grades from their previous institution), and have a 3.50 Grade Point Average. Additionally, individuals must compete in 90% of games or start in at least 66% of games.
