Quartet Garner Scholar-Athlete Awards

Oskaloosa--Four members of the William Penn women's bowling team earned recognition for their academic accomplishments by being named 2024-2025 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes recently.

Leading the group was Lucy Mitchell (So., Poulsbo, Wash., Psychology and Human Services), who achieved a 3.82 GPA as the spring semester began.

Not far behind were Sammantha Meyers (Sr., Rockford, Ill., Elementary Education), with a 3.65 GPA, Olivia Pilcher (Jr., Ottumwa, Iowa, Exercise Science), at 3.57, and Isabel Diaz (Sr., Kissimmee, Fla., Fine Arts), with a 3.50, all maintaining impressive academic standards.

This marks Pilcher's second time earning the award, while Mitchell, Meyers, and Diaz are receiving the honor for the first time.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport's eligibility paperwork.
