Statesmen Turn in Strong Field Performances Across Three Meets

Orange City/Canton, Mo./Cedar Rapids--The William Penn women's track and field team tackled a packed schedule this past weekend, competing at three separate meets and earning several standout results, particularly in the field events.

At Northwestern

Roselaure Fuller (Sr., Pella, Iowa, Nursing) led the charge on the track, finishing 16th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:38.38.

At Culver-Stockton

Miracle Crawford-George (Jr., Canyon Springs, Calif., Kinesiology) delivered strong performances in two field events. She earned a fifth-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 133-1, and added a seventh-place finish in the shot put, recording a throw of 35-3.75.

At Mount Mercy

Phoebe Burt (Sr., Iowa City, Iowa, Sociology) led the way with a pair of fourth-place finishes, throwing 119-1 in the discus and 36-10.5 in the shot put. Crawford-George added another top finish to her weekend, taking sixth in the hammer throw with a distance of 133-9.

"This was a bit of a calmer weekend for our ladies," said Head Coach Victoria Vinokur. "We are making sure we are trying to figure out the small things and gearing up for a good competitive weekend coming up."

Next Up: William Penn will again split up with some individuals possibly attending the Drake Relays Wednesday through Saturday, while others will be at the Simpson Kip Janvrin Open Friday and Saturday.
