Johnson Closes Illustrious Career with Second All-America Award

Oskaloosa--Alyvia Johnson (Sr., Owatonna, Minn., Business Management) put a big bow on a big career as she was named an All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Tuesday.

Johnson earned Honorable-Mention All-America recognition for the second time (also in 2023).

She is the only player in William Penn women's volleyball history to collect All-America honors from the AVCA.  It marks the seventh All-America award all-time for the program.  Johnson joins Sheila Mercado (2007, 2008) as the only two-time All-Americans in Statesmen history.

The senior led William Penn with 359 kills (3.52 per set) this fall on a .173 attack percentage.  She also tallied 353 digs (3.46 per set) in addition to 45 blocks (8 solos, 37 assists), 16 aces, and nine assists.

Johnson, who posted 18 double-doubles (kills and digs) in 2024, had a season-high 23 kills versus Mayville State on August 17 and a season-best 29 digs against Mount Mercy on October 4.

She closes her time at WPU being ranked on several career record lists, including being third in kills per set (3.18), fourth in kills (1,294), and 10th in digs (1,288).
